Buttery toast, gooey fried egg, melted cheese, sweet onions and a delicious sauce will give you the best egg breakfast sandwich.

Ingredients

Step 1

Slice the onions. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add olive oil and crack two eggs on one side and add the onions to the other. 

Step 2

Use a spatula to flip the eggs over and after a few seconds, flip them back. This will seal the egg yolks and finish any uncooked whites. Turn the heat off and set aside.

Step 3

Mix together mayonnaise, ketchup and BBQ sauce.

Step 4

Butter bread slices.

Step 5

Place the bread in a hot frying pan, butter side down, and cook for about a minute or until golden brown and slightly toasted.

Step 6

Place the cheese slices on the top, then flip the bread over with the cheese facing down. Cook for 30 seconds, until the cheese melts and grills slightly.

Step 7

Transfer to a plate. Spread the sauce on the side, top with fried eggs.

Step 8

Add grilled onions. Close the sandwich and serve as is or cut it in halves.
